$1 raised = 1 meal for a child

With over 40,000 children and youth living below the poverty line, ensuring kids are fed means the world. For many Edmonton families, food insecurity is a reality. Over 60,000 hot meals and snacks were served in BGCBigs Clubs last year.  Every dollar raised equals 1 meal for a child.

What’s happening? Starting on March 11 2017 at noon and going until March 12 at noon (hence the 24 hour bit) two treadmills at the Lululemon on Whyte will be continuously powered by runners donating their sweat and their cash to the Eat Smart program. Hours on the treadmill are available ‘for sale’ - the cost is $200 and all money goes to the BGCBigs' Eat Smart program (and you get a tax receipt.)

Not a runner? No problem! The weekend will also feature ‘karma’ workout classes in a variety of workouts (think spin, barre, yoga etc.) that you can register for (coming soon) with the set donation amount going again to BGCBIGS. Super hardcore about sweating and for the cause? Challenge yourself to complete the run and all the classes (and be sore, happy and a very good person.)
